Highlights from Our First Agile Talent and HR Workshop

HR Workshop

We were excited to host the inaugural Agile Talent & HR (Talent Strategist Certification) Workshop at Agile Transformation, Inc. headquarters on January 10-11, 2019.

This topic is incredibly relevant today and represents a critical missing piece in the Agile transformation roadmap. Without engaging HR teams to enable and drive people, team, leadership, and change interventions, no Agile journey can achieve true success.

We had a fantastic turnout, with senior HR leaders, transformation leaders, managers, and change agents attending. A special thank you to Fannie Mae, Capital One, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska, Corelink, Farm Credit Services, Mutual of Omaha, and our partner ICON for attending and contributing to the success of this inaugural session.

Insights from Workshop Attendees

Two of our attendees share their experiences in the following videos:

The interaction and participation from this group was uplifting, and one of the key learnings that attendees gained from this workshop was understanding how Agile impacts players across the organization.

Day 1: Understanding Agile’s Intersection with HR

On the first day, participants learned how Agile intersects with HR, exploring strategies in organizational design to optimize value flow. Key topics covered included Agile roles, career paths, and best practices for acquiring and retaining top talent.

Day 2: Enabling Performance and Agile Mindset in HR

The insightful discussions continued on the second day. Participants engaged in topics such as:

  • Enabling effective performance

  • Developing feedback systems

  • Shifting focus to outcomes

  • Agile pay & rewards strategies

  • Learning & development

  • Applying the Agile mindset to HR processes

Attendees participated in lively conversations, group workshops, role-playing activities, self-reflection exercises, and roadmapping. By the end of the workshop, they had developed an actionable plan to implement many of the concepts explored during the sessions.

Why Attend the Agile Talent & HR Workshop?

So, why should you consider attending this workshop? As Jeff Johnson, an Agile Coach, stated, “The world of work is changing. Agile and technology teams are recognizing this and trying to adapt. HR is needed to partner or lead the organizational transformation. These two days began that conversation for me.
