How Are You Measuring Your Agile Talent Development?

How Are You Measuring Your Agile Talent Development?

We are excited to introduce our latest innovation, the Agile Talent & HR Radar Assessment, which focuses on how the HR department drives and enables Agility within an organization. We believe that HR plays a crucial role in any Agile transformation, and this domain within an organization is one of the most critical components to achieving Agile success.

No matter the Agile framework your organization follows, one common theme must always take center stage: the people aspect of Agile. Employees, teams, leadership, culture, and change are the oil needed to ensure a well-oiled machine. On January 10-11, 2019, we launched our AgilityInsights® Agile Talent & HR Radar at our inaugural Agile Talent & HR Workshop (certified by ICAgile). The response from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, as they saw firsthand how this tool could measure the health of their HR strategy and tactics in enabling Agile and the new ways of working within their organization.

Key Dimensions of the Agile Talent & HR Radar

Our radar assesses key dimensions critical to an organization’s ability to execute Agile transformation:

1. Organization Design

  • Measures how well your organization is structured around collaborative teams, teams-of-teams, and portfolios. It also evaluates the integration of Agile-specific roles (e.g., Scrum Masters, Product Owners) and how these roles are supported by leadership with a Lean-Agile Mindset.

2. Talent Acquisition

  • Assesses how effectively your organization sources and creates a winning candidate experience through innovative sourcing techniques. It also evaluates onboarding programs that embed your organization’s culture, ensuring candidates feel integrated from day one.

3. Effective Performance

  • Measures how your organization has moved from individual performance measurement to team-based performance. This includes valuing consistent feedback and outcome-based metrics, which is essential to motivating and rewarding knowledge workers.

4. Learning & Development

  • Evaluates your organization’s approach to becoming a learning organization. It looks at how your teams embrace a growth mindset, and how they utilize different learning modalities to ensure employees learn in a safe, supportive environment.

5. Agile HR

  • Assesses how your HR department enables Agile across the organization while embedding Agile practices within its own service delivery model. This ensures HR can service its clients more efficiently and provide value-added services and tools to enhance the organization’s performance.
